I've updated my entertainment unit and I thought I would show you the result...

I found that the unit was dark and there wasn't enough contrast for the things that I wanted to display. Therefore, I added white plates along the back of the shelves to lighten things up a bit.

I also used the "trick" of taking off all of the dust jackets off of the books...

When in doubt, add a barn star....

Here is what it looked like before:

I love what you did with it.
I was kind of boring before...now it is AWESOME!!!
Great job girl!!
I really like it! So inspiring. I really really like how you displayed your objects. The plates really set it all off!
I love it! My hubby has been wanting a flat screen and I tell him I have to find and get an armoire big enough to fit one at the same time! That hasn't happened yet so seeing your cute little set up has given me some inspiration. Plus - you can never go wrong with a barn star :)
Very pretty!
That looks great. I think the barn star really bridges the gap between the two up-right bookcases. I could see putting light-coloured scrapbook paper in the back of the bookcases for a change down the road (like the Nester does). Good job.
cheers,

I read your comment over at the nesters, I wondered how it was up in Canada, who would ever have thought things could go as bad in the US huh ???
People thought Obama would bring change, they will be so sad when they see the 'change' this man will bring. I call him President Details to Follow....we will be a socialist country very soon I fear. Hopefully he will only get 1 term
I love it...I chuckled at the when in doubt....rofl. I love them stars...can't help it..I know they have become a cliche but o'well. cherry
