Goin' Ape Over the Dollar Store Challenge!

Hello Bloggy Friends!

We have a new addition to our family...

Meet "Tutu", a ballerina sock monkey that I made for my daughter.

Monkey After

I made Tutu" from supplies found at the Dollar Store:

Bunny Before

I had to buy an extra "bunny bag" that is not in the picture. Halfway through, I realzied that I didn't have enough fabric for the tutu. In addition, I recycled a pillow for the stuffing and I had the buttons on hand.

I made this sock monkey as part of Lindsay's dollar store challenge. You can read all about it here:

The crafts need to be completed by March 30. I can't wait to see what everyone else makes!

Very cute! You are so creative. I can't imagine trying to make a sock monkey...maybe I could handle a sock snake or something! :-)

Jill, that looks great!! What a cute little monkey. Your daughter must be so excited.

I'm off to the dollar store today in my parents little town to see if they have something different than I can find at home. I haven't even started my craft yet!!

That turned out so cute! I made sock monkeys for two of my kids for xmas, but DT didn't have socks w/ red heels, so I had to spring for the 'real' red-heeled socks.

Adorable little sock monkey you made. It reminds me of a sock dog that I made for my daughter a couple of years back. Yours is much cutter with the tutu!
